Ninkasi Radiant Summer Ale

From Ninkasi – Crisp and flavorful, Radiant Ale is a clean finishing summer offering in the Ninkasi tradition. The smooth malt character is balanced by a elegant hop bitterness, the perfect compliment to a glorious summer day.

Ninkasi Brewing – Ninkasi Radiant Summer Ale – 22 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 6% abv. Purchased at Bevmo Pasadena, CA

Appearance: Pours an amber gold with a creamy 1/2 inch head.

Aroma: Pungently dry hopped with citrusy hops, then I find spicy sweet malt.

Taste: Bitter, spicy hops on a creamy bed of caramel malts. Finishes spicy.

Mouthfeel: Thin, tingly.

Overall: A really good, flavorful APA.  I wouldn’t expect something this flavorful in the name of Summer ale, but it is. As the beer warmed up a bit, it came close to something like Green Flash Hop Head Red, which I appreciated.
