New Belgium Ranger IPA
From New Belgium Brewing – So, here it finally is – New Belgium’s foray into the true American India Pale Ales. Bring out the hops! This clear amber beauty bursts at the starting gate with an abundance of hops: Cascade (citrus), Chinook (floral/citrus), and Simcoe (fruity) lead off the beer, with Cascade added again for an intense dry hop flavor. Brewed with pale and dark caramel malts that harmonize the hop flavor from start to finish, Ranger is a sessionable splendor for all you hopinistas. Thank your Beer Ranger!
New Belgium Brewing – Ranger IPA – 12 oz. bottle poured into a New Belgium specialty glass. 6.5% abv.
Appearance: Pours a translucent yellow gold with a reddish tint. The head is a 1/8 inch layer of sudsy film.
Aroma: Fruity hops, bready and spicy malt.
Taste: Spicy European like malts, a mixture of big bitter aggressive hops with a bit of a citrus punch in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Juicy and moderately carbonated.
Overall: A very bitter and spicy approach to the style. Very solid.
