New Belgium Lips of Faith – Imperial Berliner Style Weisse
From New Belgium – Based on the centuries-old German style of Berliner Weisse, this Imperial version opens with lemon, citrus and delicate floral tones. The beer is naturally sour from lactic fermentation and a dash of Brettanomyces. Imperial Berliner weisse pours slightly hazy with a pleasantly dry finish.
New Belgium Brewing – New Belgium Lips of Faith – Imperial Berliner Style Weisse – 22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 7% abv.
Appearance: Pours a clear gold with no head.
Aroma: Lacto, lemon, fresh grain and simple syrup.
Taste: Sour grain, lemon, earthy yeast. Finishes earthy and tart with a decent amount of malt.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, coating. Like a Belgian Golden Ale.
Overall: Tasty, but I think the sourness/tartness needs to be cranked up to coincide with the rest of the doubled ingredients.
