Mission Street Hefeweizen

From Mission Street – Mission Street resides at the crossroads of quality and value, a place we have called home for more than 40 years. Our award-winning beer is crafted in small batches using only the finest all-natural hops and wheat, resulting in a classic hefeweizen with remarkable flavor and freshness.

Mission Street Hefeweizen brewed by Firestone Walker for Trader Joes  – 22 oz. bottle poured into an English pint glass. 4.7% abv. Purchased at Trader Joes Monrovia, CA

Appearance: Pours a cloudy amber gold with a big fluffy head.  That fluffy head takes a while to subside to a sturdy white 1/8 inch head.  It leaves behind lots of spotty lace marks.

Aroma: Big fruity notes. Lost of citrus backed by roasted banana.

Taste: Ripe banana, bread dough and spicy hops.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with prickly carbonation.

Overall: Comes close to the greatness of Sierra Nevada Kellerweis.  Very bold and balanced. I love this style when it’s on like this. May I add this is a way better beer than Firestone Walker Solace, even though they are different wheat styles.
