Magic Hat Howl

From Magic Hat – Born of dark and cold and snow in the marrow of the northeast’s longest night, HOWL comes in on wailing winds with winter-weary eyes burning holes in sunless shadows. In its darkened depths out inner voids are warmed.

Magic Hat – Magic Hat Howl – 12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 4.6% abv. From Ray in MA.

Appearance: Pours a black with a tan 1/8 inch layer of foam.

Aroma: Roasted malt, coffee and wet dog.

Taste: Burnt and roasted malt, finishing with a modest level of spicy hops.

Mouthfeel: Thin and fizzy.

Overall: Flavorful, and a step up from a pale lager in the character department. On the other hand, it was very one dimensional, and didn’t inspire thoughts of winter or the holidays.
