Magic Hat Heart of Darkness

From Magic Hat — Filled with the howling of black dogs that haunt the long forgotten shadows of the human soul Our inky-black stout had a smooth, round palate with a dreamlike undercurrent of bittersweet chocolate. This dense liquid-silk summoned hope from hibernation and balanced winter’s endless white snows with a rich swirl of creamy black rapture.

Magic Hat Brewing – Magic Hat Heart of Darkness – 12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 5.7% abv.

Appearance:  pours dark brown with a dens cap of tan foam.

Aroma:  Roasty dark malt. Classic stout so far.

Taste: Very pronounced roast, black coffee, chocolate, light peppery spice bite in the finish.

Mouthfeel:  Full bodied , spicy carbonation.

Overall:  A delicious stout. In researching this beer, I found out they used to use oats in the malt bill.  The beer is so chocolaty and nice, I would love it to be smoothed out with some oats or nitro or both.
