Lost Abbey Deliverance
Lost Abbey will be releases Deliverance in bottle August 28th. We were lucky to try a sample on tap prior to the release. For those who didn’t read the news, Deliverance is a barrel aged blend of Serpent Stout and Angel’s Share.
Lost Abbey/Port Brewing – Deliverance – On tap at The Lost Abbey in San Marcos, CA – 11% abv.
Appearance: Pours a viscous dark brown with a faint oily swirl on top.
Aroma: Big bourbon sweetness and some bourbon soaked dark fruit.
Taste: Burnt roast, caramel, warm alcohol, coffee, with some spicy hops at the tail end of the sip. The flavor lingers well past the sip.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, prickly pronounced carbonation.
Overall: Simply amazing. The burnt roast notes balance out the bourbon/Angel Share goodness into one of the most solid balanced bourbon barrel aged strong ales I’ve had.
