Karl Strauss Amber Lager

From Karl Strauss Brewing – In the beginning… we created Karl Strauss Amber Lager. Generous amounts of caramel and Munich malts give the beer rich caramel flavors, balanced by a background of Cascade hops. After the beer is cold fermented for a clean, smooth finish, we filter it – not once, but twice- to enhance its bright, bronze color. Our flagship Amber Lager was also Karl’s favorite beer.

Appearance: Pours a translucent copper with a decent off white head that subsides to a mere film.

Aroma: Light Euro hop, caramel/toffee sweetness.

Taste: Buttered toast, caramel and light bitter hops.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with prickly carbonation.

Overall: It’s fine. Too sweet for my liking, but not offensive in the least bit.
