Jester King Black Metal Imperial Stout

From Jester King – Black Metal Imperial Stout, a.k.a. Suds of Northern Darkness, a.k.a. Iron Sword, a.k.a. El Martillo del Muerte. Black Metal is a cruel and punishing beer fermented by the sheer force of its awesome will. We are pretty sure that Kreator wrote the song “Impossible Brutality” about this beer while drinking it during their Extreme Aggression Tour.

Jester King Craft Brewing – Jester King Black Metal Imperial Stout – 750 ml. bottle poured into a goblet. 10.4% abv.

Appearance:  Pours a midnight black with a quickly subsided head. From the pour, it appeared very thick.

Aroma: Coffee, vanilla, roast all in big doses.

Taste: Coffee, dark roasted malt and spicy hops. Very coffee forward.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied, thick, a little chalky.

Overall: Not bad, seems like it could handle some cellaring, look forward to getting to know this beer even better.
