Stone Brewing Co. – Jason Fields & Kevin Sheppard / Tröegs / Stone Cherry Chocolate Stout aged in Rye Whiskey Barrels – 500 ml. bottle poured into a tasting glass. 11.6% abv.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown with a quickly subsided head.

Aroma: Cherry children’s medicine, chocolate covered cherry cordials.

Taste: Whiksey, sweet cherry, chocolate. Woody finish. Yummy. While the whiskey was present, it didn’t come across as overly boozy.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with soft creamy carbonation.

Overall: A decadent treat that got better with some time in a rye whiskey barrel. One of my favorites in the 500 ml series.
