Ironfire Dead on Arrival
From Ironfire Brewing – With double the hops of our normal India Pale Ale, Dead on Arrival will reak havoc on your palate from first sip to last swig. One thing is for sure, when done DOA, taste buds will be consigned to the grave.
Ironfire Brewing – Ironfire Dead on Arrival – 22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 9% abv.
Appearance: Pours a fairly clear yellow gold with quickly faded white head that remains a thick white cap of froath long after the pour.
Aroma: From a few feet away, you are blasted with grapefruit and sativa like dank. Other fruit like scents were ripe pineapple and mango. Simply incredible. Once you get past the hops, which is quite the task, you will get a faint whiff of sweet pale malt.
Taste: Strong initial hop bitterness, some juicy fruit flavors, very dry pale malt that finishes with dry earthy abrasive hops that linger.
Mouthfeel: Bone dry prickly bubbles. A little abrasive, and average carbonation.
Overall: This beer is money. I would put this in my top 3 IIPAs. It’s hoppy, bitter, aromatic, bone dry. Everything about this beer is what I would want in an IIPA. Reminds me of Port Brewing’s Mongo from back in the day.
