Hangar 24 Alt-Bier
From Hangar 24 – Our Alt-Bier is very traditional except for one twist, chocolate roasted malt. We decided to add the chocolate malt to add a little more complexity to the beer and for a perceived dryness that helps to balance the caramel malty flavor.
Hangar 24 Brewery – Hangar 24 Alt-Bier – On tap at Hangar 24 – 6.0% abv.
Appearance: Pours a dark red with a tan ring of foam.
Aroma: Caramel or molasses sweetness.
Taste: Bitter hops, cocoa notes and bread.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: A good beer, and I immediately thought of using this in a stew or chilli.

Scott, this beer is distrubted just in California. Out of Redlands,CA they mostly have in the Greater Inland Empire, even as far west as Pasadena, Whitter, to San Diego. But it is at almost every supermarket within a 45 mile radius of Redlands.

I really like the Alt Bier styles. I think this is one beer I would like to try. The chocolate seems to be a very interesting touch. Would you happen to know where this beer is distributed in the US?
