Goose Island Pere Jacques 2008
From Goose Island – Brewed with loads of malt and Belgian yeast, Pere Jacques is a wonderfully fruity, malty ale. Pere Jacques’ complex flavors stand shoulder to shoulder with the Belgian Dubbels enjoyed in the world’s finest beer bars. At the dining table it’s the perfect alternative to a glass of vintage port.

Appearance: Pours an iced tea brown with a thin film of white froth atop.
Aroma: Banana creme pie, vanilla, bubble gum.
Taste: Bready malt, chewy caramel, pear, spicy hops and a small touch of booze.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: A real treat to all the senses. Reminded me of a hybrid Abbey Dubbel and an English Old Ale. Just fantastic!
