Geary’s Hampshire Special Ale
From D.L. Gearys Brewing Co. – Hampshire has a huge toasted malt flavor balanced by assertive hoppiness. The finish is long and lingering with the malt and hop notes blending with alcohol warmth. Two row English malts (pale, crystal and chocolate); Cascade, Mt. Hood and East Kent Golding hops.
D.L. Gearys Brewing – Geary’s Hampshire Special Ale – 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 7% abv. Thanks Steve!!
Appearance: Pours a clear amber with a white head that subsides to a film.
Arom: Spicy sweet barley candy. Sweet apple.
Taste: Tart and sweet apple cinnamon Hop bitterness in the background.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied modetate carbonation.
Overall: There are things I like about the beer and things I don’t understand about it. I get big time green Apple in many English Strong Ales, and this one wasn’t lacking in the green apple department.
