Full Sail Imperial Porter

Full Sail Brewing Co. – Full Sail Imperial Porter – 22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 7.5% abv.

Appearance: Pours a deep dark brown, with a 1/8 inch of tan froth atop.  No light or objects can get through the glass or beer. Leaves milky lacing.

Aroma: Coffee, chocolate, and roastiness.

Taste: Fresh, herbal hop flavor, milk chocolate, a nice espresso based drink from Starbucks or Peets, caramel toffee notes are present as well. Finishes mildly sweet and with a slight coffee bitter note.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and rather coating.

Overall: This brew is a sleeper. You don’t hear much about it, but god damn its good.  Not as heavy as the Black Gold Imperial Stout, full flavored, perfect body.  If I were to pick out something I wish was better, it would be the nose, but that is just me being picky.
