Drakes Amber Ale

From Drakes – An English-style Extra Special Bitter, or ESB. This deep copper brew has a pungent hop aroma from East Kent Goldings and Willamette hops but delivers a distinctly malty flavor from Crystal and Chocolate specialty malts. Available on draft and in 12 oz. bottles.

Drakes Brewing – Drakes Amber Ale – 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass – 5.9% abv.

Appearance:  Pours a clear dark amber with a 1/8 inch tan film.

Aroma:  Sweetened iced tea and a faint dank hop nose.

Taste:  Sweet bready malt. Citrus american hop juicy bitterness. Very balanced.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied,  juicy,with  modest carbonation.

Overall:  Highly drinkable, very balanced between malty and bitter, and exceeded my expectations.
