Dominion Morning Glory Espresso Stout

From Dominion Brewing – Morning Glory is a full-bodied espresso stout that utilizes locally roasted coffee beans. Waking up at 9% ABV with the aroma of espresso and the taste of chocolate, she will give drinkers a jolt for a limited time only. She will be available in six-packs and on draft.

Dominion Brewing – Dominion Morning Glory Espresso Stout – 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 9% abv.

Appearance:  Pours black with a foamy khaki head that subsides to a thin cap.

Aroma:  Prepared coffee with sugar, medium roasted dark malt and slight herbal hop.

Taste:  Old coffee, toasted and roasted malts, finishes roasty and ashy.

Mouthfeel:  Full bodied average carbonation.

Overall:  This is one of those coffee beers that would be best drank fresh as possible and or at the source.  It has a lot of potential once you get past the parts I didn’t desire. It definitely didn’t drink like a 9% stout, which is remarkable. Definitely willing to try this again.
