Clown Shoes Eagle Claw Fist
From Clown Shoes Beer – Eagle Claw Fist utilizes the same Chico yeast that shaped Hoppy Feet and Brown Angel. Canadian Two Row, English Crystal, and a little English Black Patent malt provide a sweet, balanced backbone. Simcoe, Centennial, and Citra work together to create a unique hop assault, with an intense bitterness that manages to leave your palate in one piece and is harmonized by the flavors of tropical fruits and flowers. The finish is dry.
Clown Shoes Beer – Clown Shoes Eagle Claw Fist – 22 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 8% abv.
Appearance: Pours a dark amber with a dense, fluffy beige head. Leaves behind creamy lacing.
Aroma: Big pungent citrusy hops and faint brown sugar.
Taste: Grapefruit, burnt sugar. Finishes rather herbal.
Mouthfeel: If my eyes were closed, I would think by the taste and mouthfeel this is an IPA. I was afraid this was going to be syrupy, and it’s far from it.
Overall: Pretty solid, and very hoppy the way I like it.
