Cigar City Dos Costas Oeste Cedar
From Cigar City – Dos Costas Oeste is the result of a collaborative brewing effort between Cigar City Brewing of Florida’s Gulf (West) Coast and The Bruery of Placentia, CA. Like the breweries involved with its creation this ale cheerfully meanders off the beaten path. Join us in celebrating this West Coast to West Coast collaboration. Aged on Cedar Spirals.
Cigar City Brewing – Cigar City Dos Costas Oeste – Cedar – 750 ml. bottle poured into a goblet. 9% abv.
Appearance: Pours an amber orange with no head.
Aroma: Cedar, perfume citrus and ginger.
Taste: Tonic/ quinine, bitter peel, cedar, fruity spicy yeast. A little limeaide too. The cedar lingers well past the sip.
Mouthfeel: High carbonation. Full bodied.
Overall: This was a very interesting series. One of my observations with the lemon and grapefruit wood variations of this beer were that the wood treatment was very subtle. Not this one. If there’s such a thing as a cedar bomb, that would be this beer. If you can get your hands on this beer, save it for a tasting, it’s good in small portions, but a bit of a chore by yourself or even splitting it.
