Cigar City Bourbon Barrel Aged Big Sound Scotch Ale

From Cigar City – Big Sound Scotch Ale is dedicated to our good buddy Gino, the most punk rock bagpiper you’ll ever meet, and the rest of the men & women of Tampa Bay Pipes and Drums.  Pairs well with Haggis, Highland Games, Huge Heads and Enormous Pillows and of course Bagpipe music.

Cigar City Brewing – Cigar City Bourbon Barrel Aged Big Sound Scotch Ale – 750 ml. poured into a goblet. 8.5% abv. 

Appearance: Pours a deep brown with red hue. Tan edges.

Aroma:  Gigagantic bourbon. Dark fruit ,caramel. Bourbon soaked oak.

Taste: Rich vanilla,  bourbon,caramel, dark fruit. Low tannins, and not that woody.

Mouthfeel:  Thick, syrupy,warming, coating.

Overall: Delicious!  If you love bourbon bombs, this one will put a smile on your face. I think the bourbon barrel treatment might have transformed it from a Scotch ale to an American Strong Ale, I dunno.
