Captain Lawrence Golden Delicious

From Captain Lawrence – Captain Lawrence’s Extra Gold aged in apple brandy barrels. There’s nothing quite likes Mom’s apple pie…But I am willing to bet this beer is pretty darn close. An American Tripel, dry-hoped with Amarillo hops and aged in Apple Brandy barrels from one of this country’s oldest distilleries. The tropical aroma of the hops and the delicate apple aroma from the barrels are a perfect match.

Appearance: Pours a dark vitamin piss yellow.

Aroma: Sour fruit and cantelope and a little bit of funk.

Taste: Crisp, tart fruit. Funky spicy yeast. Really quite balanced. The alcohol seemed well integrated.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, fizzy carbonation.

Overall: A really inviting, enjoyable beer. The funk, the tart and the spice melded well together.
