Bell’s The Oracle DIPA
From Bell’s – Our take on the West Coast-style Double India Pale Ale, The Oracle places hop intensity first & foremost, making only the slightest concession to malt & balance. The fireworks start with the floral aromatic punch of two separate dry-hop sessions with Amarillo and NZ Pacific Jade. Resinous, citrusy hop flavors mixed with aggressive bitterness from a massive kettle addition deliver on that aromatic promise.
Bell’s The Oracle DIPA – 12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 10% abv. From Jesse in Indiana!
Appearance: Pours a deep amber orange with a fluffy off white head. Leaves tons of lacing.
Aroma: A pine heavy hop nose with a trace of tropical fruit.
Taste: Grapefruit and pine. Dry malt. Finishes with lasting bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Juicy with modest carbonation.
Overall: Solid, fairly dry, fairly juicy. I prefer Hop Slam to this, but if you are looking for a less fruity DIPA, this would suit you well.
