Review – Samuel Adams Hallertau Imperial Pilsner
Review – Samuel Adams Hallertau Imperial Pilsner
8.8% abv
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a chilled pint glass.
Apperance
Clear, liquid gold color with some tints of yellow. Great head with over an inch on top and thick, sticky lacing on the glass.
Aroma
Smells of dry malts and cereal with slight fruity smells lingering about.
Taste
Crisp and quite large at first. However, after a few more sips I realized that this is an easy drinking beer, regardless of the high ABV and tart hops.
Mouthfeel
Very thick and chewy, almost like eating rather than drinking. I like the texture of this beer and honestly believe it is one of the better Pilsners out there.
Overall
Old Sammy has done it again. I picked up a four pack at Total Wine in Delaware recently and was not disappointed. Having never seen this particular style from Sam before, I had to try it. I felt like a kid at Christmas who got a present that didn’t even think to ask for.
