Avery Sui Generis Barrel-Aged Sour Ale
From Avery Brewing – A complex ale, aged and artfully blended from several types of oak barrels, Sui Generis displays a delightful lactic sourness complimented by hints of brett, oak, and acetic. Intricate yet bold, Sui Generis was crafted in the tradition of perennial Tap Room favorites De Vogelbekdieren and Voltron. This brew was drawn from a most unique group of oak barrels: it is a blend of ales from 39% Cabernet Sauvignon barrels, 35% Chardonnay barrels, 13% Port barrels and 13% Bourbon barrels.
Avery Brewing – Sui Generis Barrel-Aged Sour Ale – No. 3 – 12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 10.65% abv. From Todd in CO.
Appearance: Pours a light auburn with a dense fizzy head.
Aroma: Sour funk, grape skins and sour beer soaked wood.
Taste: Dry white wine and woody cork notes right off the bat. Funky sourness featuring sour grapes. Finishes bitter and with slight alcohol warmth.
Mouthfeel: Fizzy and medium bodied.
Overall: Another complex, awesome beer from the bottled barrel-aged series.

I have two bottles of this that I want to pair with a vegetarian dinner, any suggestions? I typically don’t care for the sour beers, but the guys at Avery made me a great pitch so I am going to give it shot.
Thanks
