Anderson Valley Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout
From Anderson Valley – With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.
Anderson Valley Brewing – Anderson Valley Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout – 12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 5.7% abv.
Appearance: Pours a dark brown with a thin tan ring atop.
Aroma: Chocolate, mocha, vanilla, oats.
Taste: Roast, chocolate, coffee, minerals, vanilla. Hop spice and roast finish.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Silky with modest carbonation.
Overall: This beer is damn near perfect. Not too sweet, not to burnt or roasty, perfect viscosity, just delicious. Very obtainable, and would be the perfect candidate to introduce to a leary Guinness drinker.
