Alpine Nelson IPA
From Alpine Beer Co. – An outstanding hop from New Zealand, Nelson Sauvin, is generously used throughout the brewing and dry-hopping of this unique beer. European rye is added for a smooth, malty addition to flavor. 1.065 OG 7%ABV
Alpine Beer Co. – Alpine Nelson IPA – 22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 7% abv.
Appearance: Pours a hazy yellow gold with a soapy white cap of foam.
Aroma: Tangerine, mango, skunky weed.
Taste: A mixture of big citrus notes (lemon, tangerine, pineapple) that finishes with clean sturdy pine and chewy toffee like malt. By no means would you consider this beer malty, however it’s worth mentioning as it’s there, and plays a great part in the beers greatness.
Mouthfeel: Thin to medium bodied, juicy, and the perfect level of carbonation. Not too aggressive.
Overall: An amazing offering from Alpine. Also, of note, unique to Alpines other amazing IPAs. With all the Nelson specific beers now available, I can honestly say it makes for my favorite IPAs.
