Alpine Exponential Hoppiness
From Alpine Beer Company – Very popular. A complex hopping method where each hop addition is double the previous amount. More hops in the hopback and then two dry-hop sessions. The second dry-hop session is with whole hops and oak chips. 1.093 OG 10.75%ABV
Alpine Beer Company- Exponential Hoppiness – 22 oz. bottle poured into goblet. 10.75% abv.
Appearance: Pours a vibrant yellow gold with an 1/8 inch of white head.
Aroma: Tangerine and lemonade.
Taste: Ripe tangerine, grapefruit, bitterness. Also reminded me of a hard candy I got for Christmas as a kid called Barley Sugar. They were colorful, clear molded figurines made out of barley sugar.
Mouthfeel: Thick and syrupy.
Overall: Dreamy and magical. I’ve had samples on draft as well, and I’m amazed at how they get that many hops into a bottle, and how it comes off citrusy, sweet, without being harsh or astringent.
