Allagash Coolship Balaton

From Allagash – Spontaneous beer aged with Balaton cherries.

Allagash Brewing – Allagash Coolship Balaton – 12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 5.9% abv.

Appearance: Pours like pink lemonade with no head.

Aroma: Cherry pie and cinnamon yankee candle.

Taste: Tart cherry,phenolic metallic funk, clove, cinnamon.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied low carbonation.

Overall: Although there was some sharp funk going on, I loved the cherry in this, and wish I had more to try down the road. I know it’s greedy, but with a 1 bottle limit, it’s hard to get to know the beer intimately as it matures.
