AleSmith Kopi Luwak Speedway Stout
Alesmith Brewing Company – Kopi Lukwak Speedway Stout – Shared by my friend Dakine – 12.2% abv. Also nicknamed “Alesmith – The Shit”
Appearance: Pours a midnight brown with a luxurious creamy frothy head.
Aroma: Huge amounts of fresh ground coffee, milk and dark chocolate and vanilla bean.
Taste: Prepared coffee, vanilla, espresso beans. Finishes with coffee and a bit of hop spice.
Mouthfeel: Thick, silky, and moderately carbonated.
Overall: The coffee in this was far more pronounced than the regular run of Alesmith Speedway Stout. Most of the time, I think coffee beers miss the mark, and get a spent grind flavor. This was not the case. The aroma was so huge and the flavor was so huge, and hit the mark perfectly. Speaking with other lucky bastards who have had this version of Speedway claimed the coffee was ratcheted up a bit in this batch. No complaints here!
