21st Amendment Hop Crisis
From 21st Amendment- The name is a tribute to the hop shortage a few years ago. A imperial IPA aged on oak using Columbus, Centennial and cascades as the bittering hops and dry hopping with Simcoe, Ahtanum, Amarillo, and Cascades.
21st Amendment Brewing – 21st Amendment Hop Crisis – 12 oz. can poured into a goblet. 10% abv.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy amber tinted yellow gold with a decent retaining cap of tight white foam.
Aroma: Big citrusy hop nose. Danky for sure.
Taste: Big resinous pine and citrus hops. Orange peel, and moderately sweet malt backbone. Finishes with some nice piney bitterness that lingers. Didn’t really pick up any oak qualities in taste.
Mouthfeel: A little astringnet, full bodied, modest carbonation. A little rough.
Overall: A suprisingly tasty treat from 21A. This is what I want from a DIPA. Sweet, but not too sweet and hoppy as all get out. I’m also very surprised at how much I enjoyed this compared to the last few seasonals/special releases. Great job 21A.
