Here are some nice words from the winners of our Best Pumpkin Beer poll, Weyerbacher Brewing:
WOW! We are truly touched! We’d like to take a moment and thank you all for voting in this poll and particularly thank the droves of people that voted Weyerbacher’s Imperial Pumpkin Ale to the number one position!
It’s no secret that Weyerbacher is a brewer of distinctive and fairly strong beers and Imperial Pumpkin is no exception to this rule. We made Imperial Pumpkin Ale in response to one of our largest wholesaler’s urging that we jump into this segment. Dan Weirback, founder and owner of Weyerbacher Brewing, recalls the conversations with the owner of that wholesale distributor and said . “we thought it might just be a fad.” After several more years of watching the segment grow by huge percentages with no end in sight, Dan acquiesced and made a pumpkin beer… but he had but one rule: It MUST be something fit for the Weyerbacher portfolio of beers. To that end, he and his brewing team crafted the 8% 2010 GABF Bronze-Medal-winning “Imperial” Pumpkin Ale. Boy is he glad we did because Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale is our number one seasonal! In this ever increasing variety of pumpkin beers, we’re super proud of our offering and we thank you all very much for supporting it.
