Upcoming Tyranena Brewing Company Beers
#1: Brand new spring seasonal: Down N’ Dirty Chocolate Oatmeal Stout.
Background: When the railroad was completed between Madison and Milwaukee in 1889, mucky soils in the glacial swamp near Lake Mills made the tracks most unsteady. A bridgetender stood guard, 24 hours-a-day, to warn oncoming trains of the danger ahead and caution them to slow their pace.
One engineer chose not to heed this warning and the locomotive lost control and tumbled off the bridge in the mud below. The train is said to be forever entombed deep in the muck along the present day Glacial Drumlin trail. We brew Down n’ Dirty Chocolate Oatmeal Stout thick and black like the glacial muck.
Availability: 4/6 NR Cases, sixth barrels, and half barrels.
#2: Brewers Gone Wild! Benji’s Smoked Imperial Porter Brewed with Chipotle Peppers.
Style: Imperial Rye Porter brewed with Chipotle Peppers
ABV: Approximately 8%
Notes: Brewer Benji’s farewell beer. An imperial porter, big black and smokey rich full-bodied with a silky chocolate crown. Dark roasted flavors host the smokey character of the wood-fired malt while chipotle peppers add a smoldering tickle of heat.
Availability: 6/4 NR Cases, sixth (WI only), and half barrels.
NOTE: This beer is not overwhelming in hotness, more of a warming tingle in your belly. Peppers complement the smoke malt very nicely, but again, is not overdone. one of my favorite beers!
