Tröegs Dead Reckoning Porter Returns For Fall
Hershey, PA – Tröegs Brewery announced today the release of the perennial favorite, Dead Reckoning Porter. The autumn seasonal will be released starting in mid-August and will be available throughout Tröegs’ eight-state distribution network by the end of August.
Dead Reckoning Porter will be available in 12-ounce bottles and 1/2-barrel kegs.
“We feel that Dead Reckoning is a perfect fall seasonal for us, and we’re glad it has become a regular addition to our portfolio,” said Chris Trogner, co-owner of Tröegs Brewery. “It makes for a great segue between Sunshine Pils and The Mad Elf. It’s a beer to savor and enjoy during the colder months of fall.”
Dead Reckoning has since been included in the Tröegs Anthology #2 variety packages as the seasonal offering for the months of August through October.
“The coffee and cocoa characteristics typical of the style are definitely apparent,” said John Trogner, co-owner of Tröegs Brewery. “However, it’s quite a robust porter. The hop bitterness is pretty assertive, which gives the flavor plenty of sharp, earthy tones.”
Weighing in a 5.8% ABV and 53 IBUs, Dead Reckoning is unfiltered and aggressively hopped for the style. It utilizes Pilsner, Caramel, Chocolate and Roasted malts along with Chinook and Vanguard hops. Dead Reckoning took home a Silver medal at the 2009 Great American Beer Festival in Denver CO.
