The Fort Collins Brewery Celebrates Winter with Big Shot & Coat Drive
(Fort Collins, CO) – The Fort Collins Brewery (FCB) is excited to release its winter warmer, Big Shot, a hazelnut brown ale in collaboration with a monthlong coat drive benefiting One Warm Coat and Fort Collins-based nonprofit, Homeless Gear.
Throughout the month of November, FCB is working with One Warm Coat to collect clean, gently used warm coats at FCB Modern Tavern. The donated coats will be given to Homeless Gear for distribution to local children and adults in need.
All FCB customers who donate coats will receive a pint of Big Shot, which can be redeemed at FCB Modern Tavern upon donation.
A wonderful winter warmer, Big Shot is full of hazelnut aromas and flavors that meld right into a blend of five toasted malts. The caramel and honey backbone create a very drinkable hazelnut brew. Big Shot is available to FCB’s distribution footprint through the winter season in 6-packs and on draft. 6% ABV | 38 IBU | 13 SRM.
“With the release of our favorite winter warmer brew comes the opportunity to help warm those in need and we’re excited to partner with two organizations that make that their mission day in and day out,” said Kelly Garrity, FCB’s National Sales & Outreach Coordinator.
FCB has teamed up with select distributors in Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and Pennsylvania to also host coat drives within their states. Visit www.fortcollinsbrewery.com/coatdrive to find participating coat drives near you.
Customers that do not have a coat to donate or live outside the participating areas and would still like to get involved are encouraged to visit www.onewarmcoat.org/donate.
“For more than 20 years we have been working to provide a warm coat to anyone who needs one. We are so thankful for our many coat drive ambassadors, like Fort Collins Brewery, who volunteer their time, resources and energy to help their neighbors in need. Together, we can reach our goal of warming one million people each winter, one community at a time!” commented Jennifer Stockard, President and Chief Executive Officer of One Warm Coat.
One Warm Coat is a national non-profit organization that works to provide a free, warm coat to any person in need. One Warm Coat supports individuals, groups, companies and organizations across the country by providing the tools and resources needed to hold a successful coat drive. Coats are distributed in the communities where they were collected, to children and adults in need, without charge, discrimination or obligation. Since One Warm Coat’s inception in 1992, they have worked with their volunteers to give away more than 4 million coats and spread awareness about the need for warm coats.
