Sun King To Tap 3 Floyds Collaboration – 3 Kings Pale Ale!
Indianapolis, IN – When 3 Floyds owner/brewer Nick Floyd and head brewer Barnaby Struve visited Sun King Brewing Co. in March to discuss the joint legislative effort to lift the 20,000 barrel limit on brewers who self distribute or operate bars and tasting rooms, they mentioned that they had a 30 barrel fermenter open the following week and asked if Sun King wanted to brew a collaborative beer.
Brewer/owners Dave Colt and Clay Robinson jumped at the chance to work with 3 Floyds, the top-ranked brewery in the world several years running on Ratebeer.com, and within minutes the foursome had knocked out a recipe for an aggressively hopped pale ale.
It’s a style that 3 Floyds, maker of Alpha King, and Sun King, maker of Osiris, know a thing or two about, and beer fans have been beside themselves since the collaboration was first mentioned on Twitter.
On Thurs., April 21, local fans of 3 Floyds and Sun King will have their first opportunity to try 3 Kings Pale Ale. The tapping will take place from 6 to 9 p.m., food will be provided by Fatsammies Ciao Wagon and Goliathon will be the musical guest.
