Brewed at Stone’s newest property, Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens (Liberty Station), the Liberty Station 12/15 IPA will be available on draft at both Stone World Bistro locations and all Stone Company stores. Proceeds from Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station 12/15 IPA will be donated to the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI). ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) affects over 450,000 people world-wide, with an average of 30,000 Americans diagnosed annually. For more information on Ales for ALS, visit their site here.
More information on the – Liberty Station 12/15 IPA:
Ales for ALS provided Stone with access to a proprietary blend of four different hop varieties, free of charge, in exchange for participation in the program. The hops contribute many flavors, including tropical fruit, mango, orange, citrus, mint and herbal notes. The beer is 5.5 percent alcohol-by-volume (ABV) and comes in at an impressive 89 international bittering units (IBUs).
The beer’s name was chosen by Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station Brewing Manager Kris Ketcham, whose grandfather passed away from ALS on December 15, 2000. He always wanted to make a beer in his grandfather’s honor, and Ales for ALS provided the perfect opportunity to do so.
“My grandfather’s name was David De Paulis, and although he passed away from ALS nearly 13 years ago, I feel like this is a great way to continue to remember him,” Ketcham said. “The ability to do what I enjoy and make a beer that raises money for ALS research is a real honor.”
