Stone Brewing Co. Issues Statement on Next Batch of Enjoy By (12.21.12)
It’s great to see such a fervent response to our leak of the markets that will receive shipments of Stone Enjoy By 12.21.12 IPA. That much enthusiasm deserves some more details! (Honestly, we’re as excited about this über fresh, aggressively hopped wonder and dying for an excuse to talk about it, so thank you all for that.)
Stone Enjoy By 12.21.12 IPA will be bottled, loaded and shipped on Friday, November 16. While this beer’s enjoy-by date coincides with the End of Days foretold by the Mayan calendar, relax, it’s the end of the world, not the end of our Enjoy By program (unless the Mayans were right). There will be more beer…and those of you who live outside of the locales that won this batch can get your hands on it, too. All you need is a Twitter, Instagram or Facebook account and a pair of opposable thumbs
Why the voting thing, you ask. It’s a valid question, info on which was covered at greater length on the Stone Blog back when we crafted our inaugural Enjoy By IPA vintage. Feel free to check it out in-between rapid hash-tag adorned tweets. In short, this is small batch brewing of beer so fresh we ship it out the same day it’s bottled. It is brewed to last 35 days.
If we could brew up enough for all of you, but with a beer like this that requires so many hops and so much attention, that’s just not feasible. So, we send it to those able to best articulate their want, nay NEED, for it. So, get to articulating! We know you want to enjoy and we want you to. Bottom line—if you are in a market we distribute to and you vote, the beer will come to you. The amount of votes helps determine where you are in the queue.
