Short’s Brewing Unveils 2014 Schedule Featuring Local’s Light and Chatterbox
(Bellaire, MI) – In only the fourth full week of the year, Short’s Brewing Company is already underway in its unprecedentedly large 2014 Bottle Release Schedule. Short’s, Northern Michigan’s largest craft brewery, is excited to offer Local’s Light and Chatterbox in bottles and kegs throughout the state of Michigan.
Chatterbox (6.0% ABV, 65 IBU) is an American Pale Ale that comes as the very first beer in the new Short’s Rotating Pale Ale Series. Available from January through March 2014, Chatterbox is the first of four pale ales being released in three month intervals throughout the year. Following Chatterbox will be Yosemite Scooter (April-June), Pandemonium Pale Ale (July-September), and Bonafide Legit (October-December).
The idea of a rotating Pale Ale Series came about when Short’s Beer Liberators and brewers came together to discuss what beers are well received in the field and what people want to see on the shelves. Since Pandamonium was Short’s only bottled Pale Ale, the team decided to create a series from Pale Ales that have been historically well received at the pub in Bellaire, MI. When asked about the new series, head brewer Tony Hanson stated, “I am personally excited about the series because a new Pale Ale every three months keeps up with my never-ending quest to design and share new beers with our customers.”
Local’s Light (4.0% ABV, 6 IBU) is an American Light Lager that has been a mainstay at the Short’s Brewpub in Bellaire, MI since it was first brewed in 2004. After years of fans requesting easier access to Local’s Light, this easy-drinking, refreshing beer has now become a Short’s Flagship beer in 2014. The Short’s Flagship beers are available year-round throughout Michigan and also include Huma Lupa Licious, Soft Parade, and Bellaire Brown.
“Local’s Light is the perfect drinking beer for anytime of the year, and I am excited to have it join the flagship family,” said Joe Short.
These two beers are only the beginning of a 2014 Bottle Release Schedule that will see 43 different beers available in 6-packs throughout Michigan, the most in Short’s history (so far). The full list of bottles being released can be found at http://www.shortsbrewing.com/beer/beer-schedule-2014/.
