San Diego Beer Week – Stone Brewing’s Events!
Taken from Stone Brewing’s Event Calendar, we share with you many of the events that caught our eye at Stone Brewing Co. that will be held over the duration of the 1st ever San Diego Beer Week (SDBW)! Please follow this link for the entire calendar.
November 6, 2009 11am – 11pm 10 Year Line-up of Stone Imperial Russian Stout
This is just what it sounds like: we’re kicking off San Diego Beer Week with ten vintages of Stone Imperial Russian Stout from 2000 to 2009. We’ll have these delicious black brews available on tap or poured from archived bottles when the Bistro opens at 11 am until we run out. The oldest and rarest will be available only at the outside bar. And for a very reduced price, you get to keep the special Stone Imperial Russian Stout glass, too! Don’t wait too long, because these rare beers won’t last.
November 7, 2009 11am – 11pm Dr. Bill Brings on the Barrels!
We’re sure to have several vintages of Stone Imperial Russian Stout on tap from the day before, but Dr. Bill wants more. We’ve added some distinctive brews from Ballast Point and our own archives that have spent some time in the company of wood to improve their awesome flavor. Some of the offerings include Stone 07.07.07 Vertical Epic Ale Aged in Red Wine Barrels, 2008 Old Guardian Barley Wine Aged in Red Wine Barrels, Ballast Point Bourbon barrel Aged Sea Monster Stout and 2006 Double Bastard Ale With French Oak.
November 9, 2009 6pm – 10pm – The Tomme Arthur Experience
Tomme is coming over and bringing twenty, yes we said TWENTY, of his special brews with him, including rare editions and archived ales. Expect to find selections from Port Brewing as well as The Lost Abbey, both on tap and in bottles. Don’t miss your chance to talk shop with Tomme over a pint or two of his awesome beers. We’ll even have a special price on Lost Abbey glassware so you can take your glass home with you after your pint is all gone. (TFP Note: Make sure to bring your Mickey’s Widemouth to get autographed by the Sultan of Swat)
November 10, 2009 6pm – 10 PM – Dual not Duel – Russian River and Allagash Dinner
Craft brewers are a friendly bunch–we’d rather collaborate than compete. That’s why it was no problem to get our cohorts from Russian River and Allagash together for a night of amazing beer and food. Vinnie Cilurzo and Rob Tod are coming down to visit, and are bringing their tasty brews with them to pair with a special multi-course meal prepared by our Chef. The dinner starts at 7 pm, but get here early for the Mix & Mingle at 6 to chat up Vinnie and Rob and sample more of their beer. If this isn’t enough for you, or if you don’t feel like having dinner, you can also order a Russian River or Allagash brew from the bar, and for a special reduced price, keep the signature glass it’s served in.
November 12, 2009 2:30pm – 9pm – 10 Year Vertical of Double Bastard Ale
In honor of our latest specialty release, we’re bringing out 10 vintages of Double Bastard Ale from 2000 to 2009. We’ll begin tapping these much sought-after brews beginning at 2:30 pm and keep pouring til they are all gone. The oldest and rarest will be available only at the outside bar. And to make it even more memorable, for a very reduced price you can get a special Double Bastard Ale glass to take home with you!
November 14, 2009 12pm – Bashah Bash
Make sure you’re here on Saturday–we’d like to introduce you to a little something from across the Atlantic that you won’t get many occasions to try! Join us for some bashah, the latest collaboration brew by BrewDog and Stone, on tap for the first time ever in our Bistro–maybe even the first time ever on this continent! We’ll also be tapping three other exceptionally tasty brews from Scotland’s rogue brewers, and have two more in casks. Spend a little extra and get an awesome BrewDog glass to take home with you. Don’t miss out!
Don’t know what bashah is? It’s a “Belgian Black Double IPA,” what else would it be? If that’s not enough of an answer for you, check out the Stone Blog: http://blog.stonebrew.com/?p=1159
