River North Releases Scotch Barrel J. Marie in Bottles
(Denver,CO) – If you enjoy sipping a fine Islay scotch as you lounge in your studded leather wingback chair by the fireside, River North Brewery has a beer for you!
This Saturday, February 1st at 1pm, the brewery will release Scotch Barrel J. Marie, combining the classic esters of the brewery’s farmhouse ale with notes of oak, smoke and peat.
In total, the brewery bottled 110 cases of Scotch Barrel J. Marie. The lowest-numbered bottles will be available at 1pm on Saturday at the River North taproom, 2401 Blake Street in Denver, with the beer on tap as well. More bottles will appear on store shelves throughout Colorado the following week.
The brewers at River North pride themselves on the experimental nature of their barrel-aging program.
“We were not expecting to release this beer for several more months,” Founder and Head Brewer Matt Hess said. “But as I like to say, the barrel will tell you when the beer is ready. And this one is ready.”
Matt and Jessica Hess opened the award-winning River North Brewery in February 2012. Brewing in the RiNo district of Denver, Matt focuses on Belgian styles and American styles with a Belgian twist, with an emphasis on barrel-aging.
