Revolution Brewing – Anti-Hero IPA Gets a Sporty New Look
(CHICAGO, IL) – Chicago is one of America’s great sports cities, boasting at least one franchise in each of the major sports and legends from Walter Payton and Michael Jordan to Candace Parker and Julie Ertz. There’s even more unmet demand for new legends alongside Lake Michigan, so Revolution Brewing will write its name in the next chapter of Chicago sports history with the foundation of the Anti-Heroes franchise. With a recognizable star in Anti-Hero IPA, the largest independent brewery in Illinois is filling out a championship roster across each of the major four sports.
Dropping a New Look
Anti-Hero, Revolution’s Franchise IPA, will sport limited-edition packaging, starting in September 2023 and going through May of 2024. The familiar green can will shift to a rotating, collectible array of all-new looks depicting the Hero’s total dominance across a range of sports and beer occasions.
“Since first hitting store shelves in 2012, Anti-Hero has proven to be the kind of beer that you build a franchise (or League) around,” Doug Veliky, Revolution’s Chief Marketing Officer, said. “But as the top-selling IPA in Illinois, Anti-Hero’s potential extends so far beyond IPA, and we plan to disrupt the sports arena next.”
Building the Teams
The Anti-Heroes will compete in the traditional “big four” Chicago sports: football, hockey, basketball, and baseball. But what’s a Franchise player without a team? So Revolution is drafting teammates for Anti-Hero, because even Jordan needed Kerr and Kukoc to become the G.O.A.T.
Fans who find a gold MVP can in their six- or 12-pack will get a roster spot on the Anti-Heroes. Winning cans entitle new teammates to perks including:
- An official contract with the Anti-Heroes and signing day photo-op at the brewery
- Exclusive team merch
- Anti-Heroes team pint glass
- $100 Revolution Brewing Gift Card
- Invitations to Franchise IPA events and activations
Taking Over Game Day
Revolution will also be leaning into sports-themed events, custom LED beer signs, and collectible stadium cups to support the Anti-Heroes franchise.
The slate of activities will kick off on Sunday, September 10 as the brewery (3340 N. Kedzie Ave.) hosts a tailgate party for the Chicago/Green Bay kickoff game. The tailgate will feature games, prizes, giveaways, and the game playing on every TV in the Taproom. More events, both at Revolution and at participating bars and restaurants, will be announced as they’re finalized.
The Franchise IPA packages will be available across Revolution’s distribution footprint. The American hop blitz cans will be followed in order by hockey (December), basketball (February), and baseball (April). Rev fans, potential teammates, and the local sports media can follow along for updates, events and new team swag at www.RevBrew.com/Franchise IPA.
