Revolution Brewing Adds Infinity-Hero to the Hero IPA Family
(CHICAGO, IL) – Revolution Brewing is introducing Infinity-Hero, a new year-round Hero IPA centered at the nexus of old-school IPA intensity and contemporary hop expression.
“Thinking back to the 50-plus Hero IPAs our team has created over the last decade, most originate from one of two universes: classic and hazy,” Revolution’s Chief Marketing Officer Doug Veliky said. “Fans of both sides are equally passionate, but we felt there was an exciting place in the middle, and potential to unite both sides”
The dry hop, clocking in at just under two pounds per barrel, is centered on four expressive, next-gen hops, including two newly developed and yet-unnamed hops from John I. Haas. HBC 586 and HBC 1019 join Nectaron and Strata to create endless juicy, citrus and stonefruit character.
The brew, created with Omega British Ale V hazy yeast, is fined and clarified for only a light haze and an appearance that walks the line between Anti-Hero and Hazy-Hero. In addition, the ABV (7.0) and IBUs (40), represent midpoints between the Classic and Hazy IPA styles.
According to Revolution Brewmaster Jim Cibak, balancing the two approaches led to an entirely new IPA profile for Revolution.
“We’ve brewed so many IPAs over the years, and tweaked our approach through the League of Heroes IPA Variety Pack so many times, that creating something truly distinct and impactful can be a big challenge,” Revolution Brewmaster Jim Cibak said. “We did a lot of test batches of very good beers, but none of them hit me as distinct enough in the aroma and flavor until the last batch. That’s when we knew we’d found Infinity-Hero.”
Infinity-Hero debuted on draft in late 2022, and was packaged in late January. In the coming weeks, Infinity-Hero will be available across Revolution’s entire distribution footprint.
