Pliny The Younger Day 2011 Details
One of the biggest rare beer frenzies of 2010 was Russian River’s Pliny The Younger day.
It was so chaotic that Russian River has decided they aren’t doing growler fills this year. Here is a note from Russian River we missed a few weeks ago, giving details on how this year’s Pliny The Younger Day will go down. Cheers,TFP
As if Christmas was not exciting enough, Vinnie and the brewers are making Pliny the Younger this week! So I thought I would give you the scoop regarding it’s release in a couple of months:
We are releasing Younger at our pub in Santa Rosa on February 4th. When the pub receives it’s allocation, those kegs will be allocated to last for exactly 2 weeks. Therefore, we may run out at the pub each day, but will have more the following day for 2 weeks. It will be available in 10 oz. glasses only- no growlers or bottles to go. This will allow more beer enthusiasts like you, as well as our regular customers, to enjoy some Younger this year! And we won’t see it on Ebay!
Following are the markets to which we will send Younger (same as last year):
San Francisco
East Bay
North Bay
Southern California
Seattle, WA
Portland, OR
Colorado
Philadelphia, PA
I don’t know when exactly they will receive it or where exactly it will be available. We entrust our distributors to allocate appropriately to their accounts! And we are not making any more than last year, so it will likely be available at the same places.
Thank you, in advance, for your patience and understanding if you come to our pub and there are lines down the street, or we happen to run out minutes before you arrive. We only make so much of this special beer and hope our new plan will allow it to last long enough for at least a few more of you to try!
Happy Holidays from us and our amazing employees here at RRBC!

I agree with the above post about the cost of RRB offerings in the Bay Area. But I think the beer is very good but not great.
I do commend the proprietor on pulling the plug on the growlers for the Younger. Internet hype, once again the culprit.

they make great beer….but the pubs in the bay area charge too much for it..so it is usually one and done for me…
