Pittsburgh’s Newest Brewery Opens Today – Roundabout Brewery
(PITTSBURGH, PA) – Roundabout Brewery is set to open its doors on Friday, July 12th at 4:30pm in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood. The company’s co-founder and head brewer, Steve Sloan, was named “Large Brewpub Brewer of the Year” at last year’s Great American Beer Festival. Unsurprisingly, the local craft beer scene is expecting great things to come out of his taps. Before founding Pittsburgh’s newest craft brewery with his wife, Dyana Sloan, Steve has worked with some big-name craft breweries across the country such as Firestone Walker (Paso Robles, CA), Lost Coast (Eureka, CA), and Church Brew Works (Pittsburgh, PA).
For the grand opening, Roundabout will be pouring 5 beers: Ginga Wheat (an American wheat with ginger, lemon, and honey), Ferdl Weiss (a German wheat), Hy-PA (a session IPA-pale ale hybrid), Black Possum (dark steam beer), and The Commoner (a single malt-single hop mild). A full description of these beers can be found on the “on tap” section of the company’s website. Currently, only growlers will be available for purchase.
If you can’t make the grand opening, regular growler sale hours will be held Tuesday – Saturday from 4:30pm to 9:30pm.
