Do you want the good news or the bad news? I’ll give you the bad news first, though it’s not exactly earth-shattering. The release of Perennial Artisan Ale‘s Sump Coffee Stout, which was originally supposed to occur this Thursday, has been pushed back a week.
What’s the good news? Well, you now have one more week to prepare your liver for an epic Sump release that will occur next Thursday, January 15th.
Beginning at 4PM next Thursday, bottles of Sump, the delicious coffee stout made with coffee from Sump Coffee, will be available for purchase ($17/bottle with a two bottle limit). Draft pours of Sump will begin at 6PM along with a live Kyoto Sump Coffee blending.
As an added treat, also beginning at 4PM Perennial will be putting on some of their big stout hitters to please your palate. The line-up includes:
2014 Barrel-Aged Sump Coffee Stout
2014 Coffee Abraxas
2014 Barrel-Aged 17 (Mint Chocolate Stout)
2014 Abraxas
Perennial/New Belgium Salted Chocolate Stout
Now, isn’t that worth waiting an extra week for? Here’s the official email from Emily Wymore at Perennial regarding the delay:
We at Perennial Artisan Ales regret to announce that we will be delaying the release of 2015 Sump Coffee Stout until Thursday, January 15th. After tasting the first batch, Phil, Cory and Scott have decided to reformulate the blend prior to packaging and release. As always, it is both Perennial and Sump Coffee’s top priority to present the best product possible. We appreciate your support and understanding in this decision and look forward to sharing our final product with you all.
On Thursday, January 15th, the release event will proceed as planned.
