New Belgium and Elysian – The Trip Series
Back in July of last year, thefullpint.com shared news of a brewery sharing between New Belgium Brewing and Elysian Brewing in this article. We have since learned that both breweries will be collaborating on at least four beers, which will fall under the umbrella of “The Trip.”
According to New Belgium Brewing, one of the common bonds between both breweries, is the abstract way of approaching beer creation. Rather than hemming and hawing on what styles are popular, or what styles will be the hot seller this year, they want to get in the trenches and make a magical concoction they will A) enjoy brewing and B) anticipate you will love.
So what beers will make up this four beer series? According to New Belgium Brewing, they only have one of the four nailed down. The first of four will be known as ‘Trippel IPA.’ This will be an extra hopped Belgian Triple, and will join the few other breweries that have been experimenting with this hybrid style.
The good news and bad news: If you live in the Pacific Northwest, you will be able to find this beer on tap at a place where finer beer is poured. There is also a good chance New Belgium will have a keg or two for a special occasion.
According to both New Belgium and Elysian, the first stop on this Trip will be Elysian Field in Seattle, WA on March 2nd for the release party. Afterwords, it will be on its way around the great Pacific Northwest for all the beer lovers of the region to enjoy.
