Mystery Brewing La Querelle Wins Silver At GABF
Hillsborough, NC – Mystery Brewing Company claimed a Silver Medal at the 2014 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition. Presented by the Brewers Association, GABF is the largest national beer competition that recognizes the most outstanding beers produced in the United States. The top three winners in the competition’s 90 beer-style categories were announced October 4 at the Great American Beer Festival awards ceremony held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

Mystery Brewing Company was recognized in the category Belgian-Style Other for La Querelle, a Seefbier – a traditional Belgian-style beer made from barley, wheat, oats, and buckwheat, coriander, and salt. It is one of the only commercial examples of this style in the world and is currently available at Mystery Brewing Company’s Public House.
Mystery Brewing Company is a small artisanal brewery located in historic Hillsborough, North Carolina. They are the country’s first Seasonal-Only Brewery and specialize in small-batch, rustic ales and lagers. They have a Public House in West Hillsborough that features up to 16 Mystery Brewing Company beers, weekly live music, and regular beer releases and events.
The 2014 GABF competition winners were selected by an international panel of 222 expert judges from the record number of 5,507 entries, plus 89 Pro-Am entries, received from 1,309 U.S. breweries.
