Modern Times Beer Pushes North Into Orange County
Modern Times Beer’s inevitable march northwards has commenced! We sent a big shipment of assorted kegs & cans off to our distributor last week, with the great majority of it destined for Orange County.
Eager beer drinkers living on the other side of the idled nuclear power plant should see tap handles popping up around the county this week. A small quantity of cans already made its way north, but now there is plenty of draft to accompany it, along with many can reinforcements. Do us a solid & ask for it!
Meanwhile, back in San Diego, we’re busy planning some superfunfunfun events for the Lomaland Fermentorium tasting room. For starters, there’s the on-going effort todecorate the brewery Christmas tree with the free arts & crafts supplies we’ve set out. Just look at that tree after a single weekend of creative beer drinking!
On December 23rd we’re hosting The Lomaland Christmas Spectacular!, a sweet tasting room Christmas party. We’ll be tapping a keg of Blazing World w/ spruce tips & a cask of Black House w/ orange & chocolate, and we’ll also be announcing the winner of our on-going watercolor painting contest. It’s the same night as our monthly homebrew competition too, which will totally add to the competitive/festive fun.

And on New Year’s Eve we’ll be hosting a Qaanaaq New Year’s Party! Why “Qaanaaq”? Well, since we’re required to close the tasting room at 9pm every night, we’ll be counting down New Year’s at 8pm, which is midnight in Qaanaaq, Greenland (according to Wikipedia, “pronunciation: qaanaaq.”)
To celebrate the occasion, we’ll be filling out all 16 of our taps with special goodies, including many of the greatest hits from the Black House Black Friday Extravaganza, a keg of Shalomaland, and at least 3 brand spankin’ new pilot batches! It’s going to be a super fun time, and a great way to either start your New Year’s Eve or end it, depending on your flava.
