Modern Times Beer Announces 12 oz. Can Launch In Wide Distribution
(San Diego, CA) — Modern Times is beyond thrilled to introduce the world to our first-ever widely distributed 12oz-canned 6-pack. While we continue to be huge fans of hazy, tropical juice bombs, we haven’t forgotten our West Coast roots, which gave rise to the newest addition to our cadre of core beers, Dungeon Map.
“Dungeon Map being our first ever wholesale release in 12oz 6-pack is a big deal for us,” notes Modern Times VP of Sales, Phil MacNitt, “We’ve consistently been a regional powerhouse in the 16oz can format, so we’re excited to finally play in the larger and more competitive 12oz space.”
The beer within these beautifully-appointed 12oz cans was lavished with massive quantities of Nelson, Strata, Mosaic, and Centennial hops. Together, this quartet of lupulin-laden stunners yields a soul-stirring symphony of citrus, stone fruit, and tropical character with just enough pleasantly snappy bitterness to really stick the landing. Phil’s take: “Dungeon Map tastes like defeating the final boss and entering the treasure room.” We couldn’t agree more.
In order to debut Dungeon Map with the intrigue and excitement it so richly deserves, we’ve unvelied a thrilling interactive adventure on Instagram @moderntimesbeer in April. Crack your thumb knuckles, because you’ll be able to harness the power of social media to guide the actions of our non-hazy hero through the comments. Chances of things getting weird are relatively high, so if you want in, keep your eyes peeled for the panels on our feeds, and for Dungeon Map cans on shelves in mid-April.
About Modern Times
Modern Times is an intrepid cadre of brewers, coffee roasters, and culinary wizards that began as a 30bbl production brewery and tasting room in the Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego. Modern Times is named after a beautifully crazy utopian community founded in 1850, and many of our beers are named after real utopian experiments or mythological utopias.Today, we’re distributed throughout the Southwest, Pacific Northwest, and Hawaii. In addition to our flagship San Diego spots in the Point Loma and North Park neighborhoods, we now have locations–some equipped with full restaurants and/or production facilities, and in Anaheim’s case, a pool–in Encinitas, Anaheim, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Oakland, & Portland. As of2017, we became California’s very first employee-owned brewery, which is a fact we’re particularly proud of. We brewed our first batch on May 18th, 2013; our beer went on tap for the first time on June 24th 2013; and we held the soft opening for the Lomaland Fermentorium tasting room on August 9th, 2013; and our Grand Opening was September 7th, 2013.
