Mikkeller Bar SF Announces October 2022 Closure
(San Francisco, CA) – On the heels of the news that Mikkeller Beer has shuttered its San Diego brick and mortar brewery, Mikkeller announces the closure of their second United States outpost, Mikkeller Bar SF (San Francisco). Here is their statement.
As Mikkeller San Diego continues to restructure, the original outpost of Mikkeller in the United States–Mikkeller Bar San Francisco, finally closes after nine years.
“Mikkeller Bar San Francisco was the second Mikkeller Bar we opened and the start of our entire operation in the States, so that place means something very special to us and it is of course very sad to have to say goodbye. But we will still be present in the US and continuously strive to make great beer and great experiences, ” says Mikkel Bjergsø, Founder and Creative Director of Mikkeller.
The gastropub in the heart of the Tenderloin, hosted many events and guests through the years with constant rotating draft beers from around the world. The bar has seen many iterations and renovations transforming the former nightclub with various design elements from the Mikkeller Creative team. Mikkeller Bar San Francisco was one of three remaining Mikkeller locations in California, now to be succeeded by the Tasting Room in the Little Italy neighborhood of Downtown San Diego.
The Mikkeller San Francisco Bar is now closed as of the second week of October 2022. We hope that the next owners of the Mission Street Bar continue to honor this space and world-class beers.
